The induction furnace melting process is a technology widely used in metal smelting, especially in the fields of steel, non-ferrous metals, etc. Its core principle is to use the heat generated by the induction current to melt the metal.
This process has the advantages of fast smelting speed, precise temperature control, relatively less environmental pollution, and can effectively control the alloy composition.
Different types of induction furnaces, such as industrial frequency, medium frequency, and high frequency induction furnaces, have differences in application and performance. When choosing, it is necessary to consider the smelting materials and production needs.
The medium frequency induction furnaces uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to heat and melt metals. It is widely used in industries such as steel and non-ferrous metals. The following are the main steps and characteristics of the process:
Raw material preparation: Prepare metal materials, alloy elements and flux according to needs.
Loading order: Usually add small pieces of material first, then large pieces of material to ensure uniform filling in the medium frequency furnace.
Electromagnetic induction heating: The medium frequency current generates an alternating magnetic field in the induction coil, which generates eddy currents inside the metal material and heats and melts.
Temperature control: The temperature must be strictly controlled during the melting process to avoid overheating or underheating.
Deoxidation & desulfurization: Add deoxidizers and desulfurizers to remove impurities.
Composition adjustment: Add alloy elements according to the requirements of the induction furnace melting process to adjust the chemical composition.
Out of the furnace: After the metal is completely melted and meets the requirements, tilt the furnace body to pour the molten metal into the ladle.
Pouring: Pour the molten metal into the mold or casting to form a casting.
Furnace lining inspection: Check the medium frequency furnace lining after each smelting, and repair or replace the damaged parts in time.
Furnace lining sintering: The new furnace lining needs to be sintered to improve its fire resistance and service life.
High efficiency & energy saving: Electromagnetic induction heating has high efficiency and low energy consumption.
Precise temperature control: It can achieve precise temperature control and is suitable for high-quality metal smelting.
Environmental protection: Compared with traditional processes, medium frequency furnace are less polluting.
High flexibility: Medium frequency IF is suitable for the smelting of various metals and alloys.
Steel industry: used for smelting alloy steel, stainless steel, etc.
Non-ferrous metals: used for smelting copper, aluminum, zinc, etc. and their alloys.
Foundry industry: used for the production of various castings.
The medium frequency induction furnace melting process is efficient, precise and environmentally friendly. It is widely used in many industries and is one of the important technologies for modern metal smelting.
