LF ladle refining furnace is a bottom-blown argon ladle furnace with three-phase submerged arc heating under normal pressure. It is a device for refining molten steel in a ladle.

Its main function is to strengthen thermodynamic and kinetic conditions in a non-oxidizing atmosphere through arc heating, reducing atmosphere in the furnace, high basicity reducing slag refining, gas stirring and other means, so that the molten steel can achieve comprehensive refining effects such as deoxidation, desulfurization, alloying and heating in a short time.

Ensure that the composition of molten steel is accurate, the temperature is uniform, and the inclusions are fully floated to purify the molten steel. At the same time, it coordinates the steelmaking and continuous casting processes well to ensure the smooth progress of multi-furnace continuous casting.

Main Application of LF Ladle Refining Furnace

LF type ladle refining furnace can be used for refining molten steel in primary refining furnace (arc furnace, open hearth furnace, converter).

It is an important metallurgical equipment for producing high-quality carbon steel, alloy structural steel, bearing steel, tool steel, gold structural steel, stainless steel and other steel grades and meeting continuous casting and rolling.

The LF furnace refining method was previously mainly used for refining special steel. It is a ladle refining furnace production technology with arc heating, argon stirring and slag refining as the core.

Characteristics of LF Ladle Refining Furnace Equipment

1. The working conditions in the LRF ladle refining furnace are reducing gas and slightly positive pressure.

2. The electrode adjustment method is to adjust the three arms of the three-phase electrode separately.

3. Blow argon and stirring at the bottom of the ladle.

4. Add a certain amount of scrap into the ladle, use arc heating, temperature measurement and sampling to make the temperature control accurate, so as to optimize the pouring temperature.

5. Blow argon and stirring at the bottom of the ladle to make the temperature distribution of the molten steel uniform, the composition uniform, and the molten steel pure.

6. Slag removal, desulfurization, and impurity removal.

7. Adjust the alloy composition and use the alloy feeding system to make the composition control accurate so that the molten steel reaches the final required chemical composition.

8. Wire feeding processing: Using a wire feeder to directly feed various welding wires into the molten steel can significantly improve the yield rate of the alloy.

9. Smoke exhaust and dust removal. Equipped with a smoke exhaust and dust removal system, it can effectively control the smoke emission and make the smoke emission meet environmental protection requirements.

10. The water-cooled furnace cover is equipped with a dust removal interface that can adjust the size of the flue gas outlet, so that the furnace always operates under a slightly positive pressure reducing atmosphere;

11. The copper-steel composite conductive cross arm is used to reduce the electrode distribution circle diameter and increase the service life of the furnace lining;

12. Equipped with automatic or manual temperature measurement and sampling devices to accurately measure the temperature of molten steel;

The high current system of the LF Ladle Refining Furnace uses pure copper as the conductive medium, and the resistance of the entire circuit is small.
