The main Ferrochrome SAF mechanical device design of Sanui high carbon ferrochrome furnace combines China's national conditions and draws on international advanced technologies such as Demark and Pyremate. 


It adopts hydraulic pressure ring, suspension cylinder hydraulic lifting mechanism, and independently developed high carbon ferrochrome ore heating furnace electrode adjustment device, which is an automatic control voltage discharge device integrating mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic, water-cooled cable, space lattice copper tube short network copper reverse parallel connection, forged copper tile, etc.


The ferrochromium furnace main equipment adopts a semi-enclosed fixed furnace type with a short smoke hood.


Process characteristics: Carbon electrodes are selected, and the furnace lining adopts carbon bricks and high-aluminum refractory bricks. The high carbon ferrochrome furnace plays an important role in the ore heating and smelting process in smelting.

Main Application of High Carbon Ferrochrome Furnace

The main purpose of the high carbon ferrochrome furnace is to add qualified chrome ore, coke, silica, electrode paste raw materials into the ferrosilicon furnace according to a certain proportion of ingredients.

The high voltage power supply is input by the submerged arc furnace transformer, short network system and electrode holder system, and the electrode is inserted into the charge for submerged arc smelting.

After a certain period of smelting, the iron is discharged into the ladle, cast and crushed, and then quantitatively packaged and stored after finishing.

The main uses of high carbon ferrochrome: used as an alloying agent for ball steel, tool steel and high-speed steel to improve the hardenability of steel, increase the wear resistance and hardness of steel;

Used as an additive for cast iron to improve the wear resistance and hardness of cast iron, and at the same time make cast iron have good heat resistance.

Characteristics of High Carbon Ferrochrome Furnace Equipment

1. A fixed semi-enclosed circular furnace body is adopted Ferrochrome SAF, the bottom is reinforced with high-quality I-beams, and the ferrochromium furnace furnace shell plate is reinforced with Q235 steel as a rib plate;

2. The low smoke hood structure, the furnace door of the high-carbon ferrochrome furnace is designed to be closed; the smoke hood adopts double chimneys for smoke exhaust;

3. The electrode lifting is controlled by hydraulic cylinders, the electrode copper tile is clamped by a brake, and the electrode is clamped and released by a hydraulic disc spring brake. The upper and lower cylinders can be used to realize manual and automatic fixed-length pressing and releasing;

4. A new energy-saving short-network structure with a regular triangle layout is adopted;

5. The electrode distribution circle can be adjusted to adapt to changes in raw materials, products and processes;

6. Circulating water cooling, the equipment requires an emergency water source to prevent damage to parts caused by sudden water outage;

7. The hydraulic system adopts a double-click double pump configuration, and the valve block adopts The integrated block structure is efficient, safe and reliable;

8. The ferrochromium furnace transformer of the high-carbon ferrochrome furnace adopts a side-outlet low-loss energy-saving transformer, which can be used with an overload of 20%;

9. The high-voltage electrical control adopts a GBC vacuum switch cabinet, which has a complete range of voltage, current, power and electricity detection and measurement and relay protection, and is equipped with a zinc oxide lightning arrester to absorb operating overvoltage;

10. The low-voltage electrical programmable controller controls the control with high control accuracy and low failure rate;

11. The electrode lifting, batching and feeding are all manually and automatically controlled, and the operation is simple and reliable.

High Carbon Ferrochrome Furnace Equipment Composition

The mechanical part of the high carbon ferrochrome furnace is mainly composed of the furnace shell, semi-enclosed low smoke hood system, electrode holder system (combined holder or pressure ring holder can be selected), short net system, smoke exhaust system, material distribution system, material discharge system, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, electric furnace cooling water system, etc.

Auxiliary equipment consists of: batching system, feeding system, iron tapping system, slag tapping system, casting equipment, product finishing system, etc.

The tail gas purification and recovery device uses a large bag cyclone dust removal device.

The electrical part of the high carbon ferrochrome furnace is composed of a high voltage system (switch station), a low voltage system, a large screen monitoring system and an automatic control system.

High Carbon Ferrochrome Furnace Smelting Process

High carbon ferrochrome furnace is a closed environmentally friendly and energy-saving solution suitable for high carbon ferrochrome smelting production. Preheating of high carbon ferrochrome furnace can eliminate water and volatile components, thereby stabilizing smelting process conditions and reducing unit energy consumption of the furnace.

Water spraying on the shell of high carbon ferrochrome furnace and forced ventilation at the bottom of the furnace ensure effective cooling. The heat-conductive carbon lining combined with effective cooling forms a spontaneous freezing layer on the hot surface of the lining, which minimizes lining erosion and improves thermal efficiency.

The characteristics of high carbon ferrochromium furnace are the use of carbon or magnesium refractory materials as lining and the use of self-training electrodes.

The electrode is inserted into the charge for submerged arc operation, using the energy of the arc and the current passing through the charge, and the energy generated by the resistance of the charge to melt the metal, adding materials one after another, and tapping iron slag intermittently, and operating continuously.
