Induction Melting Furnace Coil


The induction melting furnace coil is the main component of the induction heating of the medium frequency furnace. It is made of rectangular copper tubes wound on a winding machine according to the designed copper tube specifications, diameters, and number of turns. Copper screws are welded on the coils, and bakelite columns with a certain distance between turns are installed on the copper screws to fix the distance between turns of the coils and keep the shape of the medium frequency furnace heating coil unchanged. The coils are generally treated with four insulation treatments, such as spraying insulating paint, winding mica tape, winding glass ribbon, and curing insulating paint. Then the furnace lining is knotted to protect the coil, assisted by the bottom bracket fixation, stainless steel furnace mouth plate, outer bakelite board, water channel, vertical row, and snap-on connection row, etc., to form a complete medium frequency furnace coil, which is used in conjunction with the medium frequency power supply.


Principle of Induction Coils:

The principle of induction furnace heating coils is based on the law of electromagnetic induction. IF converts the three-phase 50Hz AC into a single medium frequency current of 100Hz--8000Hz through the medium frequency power supply frequency conversion device through rectification and inversion. After inputting it into the medium frequency furnace coil, a high-density magnetic field is generated. When the AC passes through the induction coil, the coil generates an alternating magnetic field.

This alternating magnetic field passes through the metal charge placed in the furnace, and the metal charge generates an induced current (also called eddy current) under the action of the alternating magnetic field. When the eddy current flows inside the metal charge, due to the existence of resistance, heat is generated, thereby heating the metal charge. This heating method does not require direct contact, so it can be used to accurately control the heating process and reduce energy consumption.


Induction Melting Furnace Coil Heating Function:

The function of the induction coils is to make the medium frequency current pass through the spiral induction coil of the medium frequency furnace to generate a magnetic field. The size and distribution range of the magnetic field inside the medium frequency furnace coil are determined by the design of the induction coil, that is, it has a lot to do with the rectangular copper tube size, number of turns, and induction coil diameter of the medium frequency furnace heating coil.


Classification of Induction Melting Furnace Coil:

Induction furnaces are divided into medium frequency heating furnaces and medium frequency melting furnaces, and their induction coils are also divided into medium frequency furnace heating coils and medium frequency furnace melting coils;

The medium frequency furnace heating coils is also called an inductor, a heat-transmitting furnace coil, and the melting coil is also called a melting furnace coil.
