Induction furnace for melting steel mainly include industrial frequency and medium frequency induction furnaces. Medium frequency furnace are used and demanded more.
1. Power density:
The power density of the medium frequency furnace is large and the productivity is high. Under the same stirring force and the same capacity, the power input of the medium frequency IF furnace is three times that of the industrial frequency furnace.
2. Liquid steel treatment:
The "hump" phenomenon of the liquid steel in the industrial frequency induction furnaces is more serious than that in the medium frequency induction furnaces, and the industrial frequency furnace has difficulty in slag covering the liquid surface. When the medium frequency induction furnace is smelted, the slag has good fluidity and covering ability, which is convenient for refining processes such as deoxidation and desulfurization.
3. Application:
The medium frequency induction furnaces is most commonly used for heat treatment, with a frequency of 800-10000Hz, and has the characteristics of fast speed, high efficiency and low pollution. Industrial frequency electric furnaces include resistance heating furnaces and induction heating furnace, which are widely used.
The induction furnace for melting steel with a power supply frequency in the range of 150-10000 Hz are called medium frequency induction furnaces, and their main frequency is in the range of 150-2500 Hz. The power supply frequencies of small frequency IF produced in China are 150, 1000 and 2500 Hz.
