1. Power supply system: Electric arc furnace is generally powered by AC power supply or DC power supply. DC arc furnace can directly convert high voltage AC power into DC power through rectifier to supply arc furnace.
2. Electrode system: Electrode is an important part of electric arc furnace, mainly composed of electrode material and electrode support. Electrode material is usually made of carbon material or metal material, which can be divided into main electrode and auxiliary electrode. The main electrode is responsible for transmitting current and maintaining arc stability, and the auxiliary electrode is used to help start and stabilize the arc. The electrode support plays the role of supporting and fixing the electrode.
3. Arc system: The arc plays the role of heating and melting metal in the electric arc furnace. The condition for the arc to be generated is that the power supply provides enough voltage to generate an arc that condenses and discharges through the air, and then the spark formed by the electrode material ignites the air to form an arc. The stability and temperature of the arc are mainly affected by factors such as the current size, electrode shape and distance, and impurities.
When the arc furnace is working, the metal material is heated to a high temperature to melt it. The arc furnace has the advantages of fast heating speed, uniform temperature distribution, and flexible operation.
