Composition

Electrode holder is an important part of electric furnace mechanical equipment, and its functions include the following three points:

Transmit strong current to the electrode;

Firmly clamp the copper bush on the electrode;

Cooperate with slipping and lifting electrodes.

Advantages

Strong applicability, applicable to submerged arc furnaces with different power and electrode diameter.

Compared with the submerged arc furnace with copper bush as the conductive element, the contact resistance is superior to other forms of contact resistance due to the spring and bolt compression between the conductive element and the electrode shell, without arc strike and stable current transfer.

Due to the airtight design of the conductive element, the conductive element is not radiated by high temperature, its temperature rise is much lower than that of other conductive elements, and the conductivity is significantly improved.

As the contact resistance is reduced, the conductivity is improved, and the internal water cooling is added, the electrical efficiency and power factor are significantly improved, the energy saving is more than 5%, and the material saving is about 20%.

Due to reasonable structure design, the service life of conductive elements is doubled. The daily maintenance cost is greatly reduced, and the equipment operation rate is significantly improved.

Description

The electrode holder is hung above the furnace mouth, and all components are located in the high temperature zone, bearing the effect of furnace mouth radiation and furnace gas. Moreover, heat will be generated at the electrified part, and heat will be generated at the non-electrified part due to induction of induced current, so water cooling is required.

The structure of holder shall be as simple as possible, with small electrical loss, easy operation, easy replacement during maintenance, high mechanical performance under high temperature and insulation and magnetic isolation performance.

Electrode holder can be divided into suspension type and cross arm type according to different structures. More suspension types are used. Cross arm type is mostly used on furnaces with small power and electrode diameter. Its device is similar to the electrode device on the steel making electric furnace.

In a broad sense, the electrode holder is composed of electrode clamping ring, conductive copper tile, hanging device, water cooling jacket, electrode holder cylinder and cross beam, which is actually the electrode holder system; In a narrow sense, only the part of the device that compresses the copper pad against the electrode.

There are many types of device for electrode holder to compress the copper pad against the electrode. At present, there are many types of device used in foreign countries, including pneumatic spring type, hydraulic bellows type, oil motor drive conical ring type and hydraulic rubber membrane type.
